12 ft Tall Triangle Y Inflatable
The team at Inflatable Signs had the honor and privilege to help produce a 12 ft tall inflatable version of the historic “Triangle Y” for 97th AMW Wing staff, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
During WWII aircraft from each unit had specific tail markers to identify themselves in order for them to be recognized in air by fellow allied aircrews without using their radios and giving enemy their positions. The “Triangle Y” symbol was used by the historic 97th Bombardment Group, who became one of the few heavy bombing groups to bomb Nazi territory during World War II. The 97th AMW continues to honor its heritage by displaying the symbol upon the back of mobility aircraft
